You should go to elephant camp once in your life!

This is the most anticipated and meaningful experience of my trip to Thailand! We chose Elephants' Home & Nature🐘. There are many elephant camps in Chiang Mai, some of which are of a show nature and do more or less harm to the elephants. Accidentally brush to this house, learned that their elephants are rescued. They don't let the elephants do any shows, only let us participate in their activities, and even bathing the elephants is not required. This is the original intention of saving elephants, so I signed up for this event.

It's an elephant rescue camp in Kanchanaburi Province, where the owners rescue elephants that have previously been abused or controlled. Unlike elephants, which are dedicated to performing for profit, here they are free and unfettered.

This is different from other elephant camps, there is no Chinese guide, there are elephant riding links, fewer tourists, can interact with elephants more! They also provide cute t-shirts and shorts, give out food bags, no animal shows, feed and bathe the elephants together with the group members, and the staff explains the life of the baby elephants. Watch the elephants scratch and splash in the sand.

Before contact with the elephants, we will introduce the situation of the elephant camp and the elephant members, and popularize some basic knowledge of contact with elephants to ensure our safety and avoid injury. Like my friends who are not good at English, don't worry, the owner of the garden takes good care of me to slow down my speaking speed and explain to us with pictures and hand movements, which can be fully understood.

An hour's drive from the ancient city of Chiang Mai, it is a large open park with lush vegetation and forests across the river and more than 10 elephants. When we arrived, the staff would ask us to change into their clothes, because there would be a lot of mud when we came into contact with the elephants. Then he explained to us some precautions, and then taught us to make elephant rice balls. The food balls are bananas and other nutrient-rich ingredients that need to be thrown into the calf's mouth.

Kanchanaburi is about three hours' drive from Bangkok. When booking the official ig project, you can choose the shuttle service together. We chose the E package of 1200 baht/person (excluding the chartered car fee). The project includes riding an elephant back and forward to the river (the journey is dozens of meters short, it is a short experience, and does not cause harm to the elephant) ➕ bathing the elephant.

We temporarily added a feeding item of THB 50 per serving, feeding bananas and sugarcane. Start feeding the elephants, the elephants here are very docile and do not attack people, but they have a big appetite to eat all the time, the staff said they eat 200 kilograms of food a day. You can take pictures with them, the staff are very nice, take pictures of us voluntarily, very patient. Suggest adding this item! It's really cheap, and you can stick with the elephants while you feed them!

After feeding, they want to go to the other side of the river, we will follow them all the way, in the middle of the bamboo raft to the other side, the elephants will walk across. We followed the elephant as it walked through the jungle, interacting with it and taking pictures.

On the way back, the elephant will bathe in the river. You can wash it, but it will get the clothes wet. After coming back, you can also touch the baby elephant that is still feeding for 5 months, which is very cute.

There is also a lunch at noon, which is relatively simple but delicious. Before we left, our guide showed us around their "Longneck" tribe.

The trip is about 4.5 hours, we reported a 2-hour tour, but the time is obviously exceeded, if the Chinese will be assigned a guide who can speak Chinese, very good little sister.

If you come to Chiang Mai, you must come to this place, which is the closest to animals from nature. Just immerse yourself in playing with elephants ~ The whole process is so happy!! Elephants are good relatives are lovely, and I sincerely recommend that friends who like elephants can experience it once!
