The origin of the festival:
Spain is a tenacious nation, its people against the oppression of foreign invaders, in 1492 launched the liberation movement (La Reconquista), won the victory. The origins of Carnival date back many centuries. It spread throughout Europe during the Middle Ages (La Edad Meida) and was closely associated with religion. Burial of sardines (El entierro de la sardina) : On the day of the end of the carnival, the "burial of sardines" activity is held, people will be cremated sardines, meaning that all the vices during the carnival will be burned, colored paper is the feature of the festival.

Beauty pageant (Concurso de belleza) : In some regions, the participation of the masses and the selection of the "Queen" (La reina) is one of the features of Carnival.

The celebration colors of Spanish Carnival are usually very bright and colorful, including red (Rojo), yellow (Amarillo), green (Verde), blue (Azul) and other colors to show the joy and warm atmosphere of the festival.

Galicia: Filloas and Orellas are traditional dishes of the region.
