Hundred-tongue birds and ancient tombs in ancient city
The World Heritage site "Tongue-bird and Koji Tombs" is a collection of tombs of ancient Japanese princes built during the heyday of the Koji Period (the second half of the fourth century to the second half of the fifth century). Located on the Osaka Plain, it is one of the political and cultural centers of ancient Japan and the starting point of the waterway leading to the mainland.
Including a number of huge ancient tombs, with a unique keyhole shape, unique in the world, the largest ancient tomb up to about 500m, these huge ancient tombs and small and medium-sized tombs of a variety of sizes and shapes are densely distributed, forming a group of ancient tombs.
In most tombs around the world, only earth and stones are piled on the coffins and tombs, but the tombs of ancient tombs are designed as geometric shapes, as funeral stages, and decorated with pottery figurines and other pottery products, which belong to architectural masterpieces.
There are as many as 160,000 ancient tombs in Japan, and the only one that represents the ancient Japanese culture of the ancient tombs and provides valuable material evidence is the ancient tombs in the ancient city of Hyakoru. The 45 ancient tombs and artifacts testify to the sociopolitical structure, social class differences, and elegant burial systems of this era. Ancient tombs are densely diversified, four standard patterns, evidence of meticulous and unique burial.
The Hyakoro area is located in the city of Keshi, and 21 of 23 sites have been selected, including the world's largest tomb, the Indeokten Imperial Tomb. The Furushi area is located at the junction of Fujii-ji City and Hayono City, and 24 of 26 buildings are selected. The 21st floor of the Jieshi Municipal Office is open to the public.
