Magnificent red earth landscape of Australia
The Red Sand Garden is a special display area within the Kalamburn Botanic Garden designed to showcase and highlight Australia's red soil and desert environment and the plant ecosystems associated with it. This area is a highlight of the Botanic Gardens, offering visitors a stunning and unique insight into the Australian Outback.
Australian red soil is a very unique geomorphic feature of the Australian outback and is widely distributed in central and western Australia. The striking red color of Australian laterites is due to the high content of iron oxide, a chemical that causes the soil to appear red or brownish-red. Iron oxide is a common mineral that is very abundant in Australia's crust, so red soil is particularly common in this country.
Vegetation in laterite areas usually consists of drought-adapted plants, such as shrubs, herbs, and certain trees. These plants are adapted to dry climates and poor soil conditions and thrive in these environments. The red earth area of the garden displays a variety of plants that grow in desert environments, including cacti, succulents, desert trees, and more. These plants often have characteristics adapted to drought and high temperatures and are a key component of the ecosystem in the Australian outback.
The red earth area offers visitors an authentic ecological experience. It provides visitors with the opportunity to understand how the desert ecosystem works. Knowledge of outback ecosystems helps to understand how to protect these fragile environments and raises awareness and value for the Australian outback.
The kids don't want to leave the water play area
The water play area of Kalambon Botanical Garden is a special area that allows visitors to engage in interaction and entertainment, and it is usually rare to see such a large-scale water play area in a botanical garden, but it is very rare even in a playground. This area has water jets, pools or other water features to provide leisure and recreational activities. These areas are often particularly family-friendly and child-friendly, allowing visitors to explore the plants while also having fun on the water.
This area is not only a water play area, it is surrounded by small streams, rockeries, green Spaces, visitors can not only play in the water, but also enjoy the scenery and plant landscape. Children play in the water, chasing the current, adults chat in the rest and picnic space, and the whole family enjoys the fun time outdoors.
