Burning Man Festival
Started in 1986, Burning Man's basic mission is to promote community, inclusion, creativity, fashion and anti-consumerism. Burning Man is an anti-tradition carnival started by an American organization called Black Rock City, LLC.
"Burning Man" lasts for a total of eight days, from the end of August to the beginning of September every year in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, USA. The first Monday in September is Labor Day in the United States and the start of Burning Man. Every year at this time, people from all over the world pour in. All the participants are called burners.
"Burners" celebrate the festival by wearing strange costumes and even being completely naked. The climax of the Burning Man Festival is that people form a large circle in the open space, and in the middle of the circle, a 12-meter-high wooden statue of a man is burned, which is how the Burning Man Festival got its name. The huge flames and the "burning man" who eventually fell to the ground were often cheered by onlookers.
The site of Burning Man is not a beautiful landscape, but a barren landscape -- the Black Rock Desert, with its 107 degrees of heat and volatile weather. In Black Rock City, people can bring whatever they want, create shelters, make sculptures, perform art displays, and more.
Friends from all over the world are showcasing brilliant ingenuity and creativity, so don't be surprised to see an eggshell tent, a house made of light, or a car shaped like shark's fin. People can also make a big deal about themselves, and strange clothes and weird behavior are acceptable here.
Therefore, some people see it as a large gathering of performance, sculpture, and architectural art. At Burning Man, people are completely removed from the world they live in, looking for an 8-day garden of Eden that is all their own.
No one asks about the past, no one disturts the future, and people can completely release themselves here and realize their dreams in daily life.
Like sending a letter to heaven, telling your heart, and then burning it.
Black Rock City is a temporary city that is born when the activity begins and disappears when the activity ends. So, when the event ended, Black Rock City vanished, leaving no trace of its return to a deserted desert. Everything that happened here will be gone with the wind and become a fresh memory in people's minds.
Since Burners around the world have built an eight-day "city" out of thin air in this barren desert at the same time every year, the only facilities provided are toilets and the only things sold are two: ice and coffee.
Any other daily necessities must be brought. After eight days, the "residents" left, and "leave no trace", all the garbage was packed up and taken away, and no pieces were left, the city evaporated, and returned to a desolate desert.
