Brazil's famous Christ the Redeemer is a huge statue of Jesus Christ on top of the Corcovado Hill in the city of Rio de Janeiro, which is one of the most famous symbolic buildings in Brazil and the world.

The giant statue of Jesus, located at the top of a 710-meter-high humpback mountain, was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Brazil's independence. Construction of the Christ the Redeemer Statue began in 1922 and was completed in 1931 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Brazil's independence. Design and construction: The design of the statue was carried out by the Brazilian engineer Heitor da Silva Costa and the Brazilian sculptor Paul Landowski, while the construction work was carried out by the Brazilian engineering company. The statue is made of concrete and plaster.
