1. Visit Chidilong Temple
Chidilong Temple is the oldest temple in Chiang Mai, located in the heart of the ancient city of Chiang Mai, and was built in 1411 AD by King Samonma of the Kingdom of Lanna. The original 98-meter-high pagoda was destroyed by the war and the earthquake, but only 42 meters remained. It's devastated, but it's still magnificent.
The ancient city of Chiang Mai as the capital of the Lanna Dynasty, various sizes of temples scattered inside and outside. The destruction of the upper part of the Chidilong pagoda in the 16th century earthquake has instead created a beautiful, mutilated beauty.
Chidilong Temple is the most suitable for walking at night, exceptionally quiet and spectacular, there is a huge towering ancient tree in the courtyard, there are always dogs on the lawn to cool, in the night light against the backdrop, the Buddha statue shining gold, in the rainy ground on the reflection of the gilt!
Next door is the oldest Lanna teak temple in Chiang Mai - Pan Tao Temple, vermilion red sculpture door, teak structure of the main hall is exquisite and simple, gold eaves inlaid with colorful parquet lenses gorgeous but low-key, behind the main hall there is a pure gold stupa under the bodhi tree!
The temples of Chiang Mai have a special flavor at night, especially on Sunday, most of the temples in the old city will turn on the lights of gold!
2. Sunbathe at the Lanna Courtyard Hotel
For a few days in Chiang Mai, I stayed at a super chill hotel.
Located in the ancient city of Chiang Mai moat, the single-family Thai Lanna style villa, small and fine feeling, the courtyard with a swimming pool is super beautiful, even if sitting on the balcony will not feel bored ~ The hotel has a total of only ten sets of rooms, the room has a very comfortable essential oil aroma, and a large Jacuzzi. It is not near the street, so there is no noisy feeling at all. We are the only Chinese guests. The reception sister is very good at Chinese, so don't worry about not being able to communicate
Breakfast is also a plus! The design of the buffet order, the taste is very not poke, hidden menu mango sticky rice and iced Thai milk surprise to me after breakfast can take a shallow swim and then go out to play
Sunbathing in the Lanna courtyard hotel, sunbathing while soaking in the pool, lying in the "big hot spring" nap to absorb energy from the sun, eating ice will not be painful.
3. Murals on the walls of Wat Pasin
Wat Pasin is a landmark in the ancient city of Chiang Mai, originally built in 1345 by King Mong Rai. Everyone knows that the temple enshrines the Buddha Buddha's Shwedagon Pagoda, but few people know that the temple of these 700 years ago murals.
During the Sukhothai dynasty, the powerful Lanna Kingdom was established in northern Thailand, which lasted for 600 years, and here is the most representative temple architecture of the Lanna Kingdom.
After seeing the Shwedagon Pagoda, you must remember to walk to the back, in the old hall, you can see these 700 years ago frescoes.
The point is: there is no isolation at all, just like a wall at home, you can stick your face on it to look carefully, and you can directly touch it (of course, for the protection of cultural relics, it is not recommended to start), in China, such opportunities are close to zero.
The stunning beauty on the left side of the temple wall dedicated to the Sakyamuni Serita is actually the original mural paintings of the Lanna Dynasty 700 years ago, and the folk stories and real pictures of the Lanna Dynasty society are vivid.
4. Ayurvedic oil therapy
In Chiang Mai, Ayurveda was performed, a form of healing that originated in ancient India. It is to use a copper pot, a large amount of warm herbal oil constantly dripped on the brow (their medical system thinks that the acupoint there is the third eye) along the scalp into the hair, suitable for people who often have headaches, insomnia and stress. I don't have insomnia, but I often get headaches.
Looking for a long time, Chiang Mai only this can do, fortunately, a month in advance to make an appointment to pay good money, otherwise can not be about. A total of two hours, the environment and service are not picky, the little sister who gave me a massage is very strong, many people can not press the correct position, she has mastered very well, very comfortable, worthy of recommendation.
Ancient oil drops in the brow chakra trigger intracranial tremors. Oasis Spa focuses on the environment, the bathing area can feel the shadow of the tree and the sun, the whole room seems to be a wooden block building, the air and the outside world circulation, open the five senses experience.
5. Encounter a 3V3 basketball game by the wall of the ancient city of Tapei Gate and sigh "oh youth".
The collision of ancient monuments and modern times also vividly presents the status quo of Thailand's magical ethnic fusion, with black, white and Asian 1:1:1 distribution on the court.
6. Watch the sunset at Chiang Mai University's Calm Lake
Really a super high energy campus! The overall style is like the Chinese campus in the 1980s and 1990s, the campus is very open, natural and quiet, the lake and the grass are full of people, everyone looks very peaceful. It's a natural place to feel relaxed.
There is a kind of warmth that slowly takes the pressure off here and then is gently touched.
Quiet Lake Angkaew Reservoir, must go!! It's a layered lawn and a lake that's bound to be painted. The school is the densest, most out of the place, the school is very pet friendly, you can see a lot of small dogs on the lawn.
Touch the cute little dinosaur at the gate of the school of Geography, and turn on the path in the school to climb to the Pa La Temple. Chiang Mai is like a place of refuge, and the universities here are all in refuge.
7. Have a small Thai pot hot pot
zoom 3 moojum's hot pot soup base is light and fragrant with herbs, oxygenated beef and green sauce dipping sauce is the best, and the giant baby with no hope of mouth is really happy after eating. Please be sure to come a few baskets of vegetables (cabbage and Tongcai), crock pot is relatively small, directly break off the pot, we are every 1 blue dish with 2 plates of meat next pot to eat (two people), recommended meat: pig liver (must point!) Pig kidney (that is, pig waist, must point!) Fresh fish meat, beef, sausage, crab fillet, fish tofu and so on are very good, raw meat can be mixed with raw eggs and then put into the pot more smooth and tender
There are two dipping sauces, one green and one red, green is spicy, red is sweet and spicy, dipping green directly without hesitation
At the end, you can try the soup in the crock pot, which is particularly magical. It is very light at the beginning, and it is very delicious after cooking the meat dish!
🏧 Each dish is basically 19 baht, which is not a big portion, but it's still very cheap! Harsbender and I have a total of about 300-400 baht, 30-40 yuan per person!
