An artistic treasure hidden in the mountains

Vals is located in the eastern part of Switzerland, where German and Romansh languages are spoken. In the valleys of the Alps; Belonging to Graubunden, this sparsely populated town has a perennial population of around 1,000 people, an average of only 7 people per square kilometer, but it is famous for its hot springs and spas. At the same time, it also produces the famous spring water brand "Valser".

Nestled in the Swiss Alps at 1250 meters above sea level, the Var village is one of the most scenic areas in Switzerland.

There are many extraordinary projects here, each full of natural charm and human charm. Around the main square, stands the typical Waal village houses, the roofs of which are carefully polished stone tiles made of Waal quartzite, through the baptism of wind and rain, still maintain the original rural appearance.

Over the years, the Var Village has always adhered to the respect and protection of agriculture and rural structures, so that the folk houses and rural landscapes here can be completely inherited. The Valls Valley's most precious natural resource is the water that nourishes the land. For millions of years, the combination of snow and rain has not only shaped this unique, deeply cut terrain, but also provided the village with a constant 30-degree heat source, the only valuable resource in Graubunden that flows directly from the ground.

In the small town of VALS in Switzerland, there was a B&B buried on the hillside. Different from traditional houses on the hill, the design had a very creative idea. The house was buried under the hillside and built on loess, just like Chinese cave dwellings.

The unique structural design cleverly creates a landscaped courtyard on the steep hillside with panoramic views of the alpine forest on the opposite side. The mountain and the architecture blend perfectly, making the person feel like being in the embrace of nature.

The opening of the alpine slope allows wonderful views and light into the room, and the large floor-to-ceiling Windows allow views from inside. Like being in a painting, every morning and evening become the most beautiful moment.

Although this homestay is not physically built on the hill, it is the most prominent building on the hillside. It is the artistic treasure of the valley, exuding infinite charm, attracting countless explorers to experience its unique features.

In this magical land, a remarkable building project has emerged. The project makes full use of local materials, structural types and landforms, retaining the original natural landscape while subtly intervening. It was this ingenuity that led to the creation of this unique award-winning holiday home, Villa Vals. Its existence is not only a tribute to the natural beauty of the Var countryside, but also a perfect interpretation of human wisdom and creativity.

Valls also has a spa, yes, a life bath that you have to climb over the mountains, and flip it twice.

The Valls Spa in Zumthor is a classic project that marks a milestone in his career and is also a mecca for many architects to clock in.

The key point is that the off-season Valls people are very few, the supporting 7132hotel shows that it is not full of rooms, and it is only known after arriving because the off-season hotel does not open only hot springs, and the hot springs are only open until 6pm on Monday and Tuesday, and other times are open until 8pm.

When we arrived, it was no longer 5:50, so we could not enter, so we decided to come back the next day, but the off-season Valls village was almost like straying into a spirited unmanned village, and there was only one hotel in the village with a very general configuration to sell 3k for one night, so we drove to the nearest county seat to stay at noon the next day and then returned.

Tickets are CHF 60, and staying in the village offers a discount of 50 per person.

Even if the back and forth, but the Swiss mountain village at the end of April along the way in addition to cold really have no problems, it is also a reward for hard travel.
