The violent aesthetics of Soviet architecture!

The Soviet Union is definitely one of the most amazing countries in human history, and after decades, its artistic and aesthetic heritage is still very impressive in today's eyes, and its influence on other republics besides Soviet Russia, as well as various countries in Eastern Europe, such as the following or romantic, or shocking, or science fiction, or absurd Soviet architecture and sculpture. In short, it conveys a very contradictory sense of overbearing power...

Russian National Scientific Center for Robotics and Cybernetics

Located in St. Petersburg, built in 1968, and its name, even now, the painting style is very vanguard and science fiction, although it looks very cold, strange, but the local people gave it a very poetic name: white tulip...

It was involved in the development of soft landing control systems for the Soyuz spacecraft and the Luna 16 robotic probe. In 1986-1987, the Institute built mobile robots for radiation reconnaissance and cleaning up the aftermath of the Chernobyl accident. In the early 1990s, the institute was involved in the development of the Blizzard spacecraft manipulator.

This building with brutalist characteristics and futuristic characteristics is also one of the visual elements of atomic punk.

Chuvash State Ballet Opera House

Elegant ballet and typical fauvism style architecture, seemingly contradictory, but can collide with intense sparks...

Frozen monument

The shape is very sci-fi, at first glance it looks like a giant Star Trek ship... It was built in 1981. Consisting of a saucer-shaped main structure and a tower with stars, with an elaborate torch sculpture in the distance, the overall design is futuristic and timeless, while symbolizing the eternal glory of the socialist movement. After its completion, it was mainly used for official meetings and events. In 1989, the country's Communist regime did not fall behind and ceased to use it.

The building is influenced by a lot of fauvism styles, but the actual shape is more in favor of the prevailing "futuristic" style!

The iron fountain in Gyumri, Armenia

One of the unique examples of Soviet modernism, the fountain survived the 1988 Spitak earthquake, which destroyed 80 percent of the city's buildings, and is now one of the symbols of the spiritual strength of all Armenians.

Monument "in memory of the Kuzbas miners"

The brightest spot was the miner's bright red heart, which lit up like a light bulb. It says, "In every light bulb, there is a miner's blood." Below the sculpture are buried sad faces, symbolizing the dead workers buried in the mine.

Monument to Soviet soldiers in Lezev

Although the above does not belong to the Soviet period, but as always, it is full of fur and iron blood and romantic national genes. The sculpture is based on an ordinary soldier who participated in the Battle of Rzhev, and the lower body is a flock of flying cranes (the Russian song "Cranes" is a symbol of Soviet soldiers killed in World War II, so the Soviet Union established a White Crane Festival, and many World War II memorials have images of flying cranes), which is very powerful.

The Winner's Mother

The statue "The Victor's Mother" portrays a sad female figure, with a huge cloak symbolizing the female body and a long wax torch beneath it. On either side of the wax torch, there are 75 recesses - niches shaped like teardrops, which the designers explain symbolize the tears of mothers who lost loved ones in the war.

Located on the outskirts of Moscow, Patriot Park commemorates the battle of the Defense of Moscow in 1941, which was also the battlefield at that time.
